The latest approach nomenclature is RNAV (GPS)
These allow airplanes equipped with FMS’s with sufficient
navigational accuracy to fly “GPS’ approaches without necessarily having GPS.
RNP 0.3 is equivalent to approach-approved GPS
LNAV = GPS (or equivalent) lateral navigation.
LNAV/VNAV (baro-VNAV) – glide slope from barometric altitude and GPS position.
GLS /LPV = precision approach with WAAS-enhanced GPS
